Million Veteran Program Looking For Participants

The Million Veteran Program (MVP) is a national, voluntary research program, open to any Veteran enrolled for care in the VA healthcare system, that collects genetic and health information to help lead to new ways of preventing and treating illness.  The goal is to improve health care for Veterans.

National Institutes of Health to Fund PTSD Study

Researchers at Syracuse VA Medical Center and SU to Collaborate

Syracuse, NY- The National Institutes of Health recently announced that it will fund Dr. Kyle Possemato at the Center for Integrated Healthcare at the Syracuse VA Medical Center to conduct a study that will adapt and test the effectiveness of a brief mindfulness training for Veterans with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. This study is a collaborative effort with Dr. Dessa Bergen-Cico at Syracuse University and Dr. Wil Pigeon at the VA Center of Excellence for Suicide Prevention. The study begins in January 2018 and will be complete in December 2020.

Spero Therapeutics to Collaborate with Central New York Research Corporation

Spero Therapeutics recently received a grant from the National Institue of Health (NIH) to conduct preclinical studies of SPR720, the company's novel oral bacterial gyrase inhibitor, for the treatment of tuberculosis (TB).
